Council Mandate

The Council will:

  • Meet quarterly to discuss issues of concern to companies doing business in both countries and potential solutions needed to unlock problems
  • Provide advisory support on industry, trade and investment matters to the relevant Ministers and advise them of any matters that may compromise bilateral economic relations.
  • Facilitate private sector interests from both countries in the interface with government.
  • Ensure that private sector and government perspectives on industry, trade and investment are captured for report back to the Council and Ministers.
  • Share industry, trade and investment information in order to enhance mutual understanding and establish a foundation for closer business co-operation.
  • Identify and develop recommendations on specific areas of cooperation.
